Oman reiterated its dedication to regional collaboration in broadcasting at the 115th session of the Arab States Broadcasting Union’s Executive Council, which was held in Tunisia. Delegate discussions also prioritized institutional media support for the Palestinian cause alongside operational preparations for the upcoming Arab Radio and Television Festival, running under the theme “The Pulse of the Image and the Echo of the Future.”
Delegates placed heavy structural emphasis on integrating artificial intelligence into newsrooms and production environments. Council members evaluated targeted specialized training initiatives aimed at equipping media professionals with AI-driven capabilities, ensuring regional broadcast networks maintain operational relevance and technological agility.
Human capital development formed a central pillar of the council’s agenda. A formal report presented by the Arab Centre for Radio and Television Training praised Oman’s constructive role in hosting practical, in-person training workshops in Muscat. The assessment highlighted the active enrollment of Omani personnel in advanced skill-building programs hosted both in Muscat and at the union’s dedicated media academy in Tunis.
Furthermore, regional delegates examined strategic frameworks to expand cross-border media distribution and enhance investigative journalism capabilities throughout the Middle East and North Africa. Participating delegations emphasized that establishing unified editorial principles and modernizing archival access remain essential steps toward preserving regional cultural heritage while simultaneously building transparent, authoritative news outlets capable of navigating complex global communication challenges effectively.
