A passenger was slightly injured by shrapnel on a commercial airplane that landed safely at the King Fahd International Airport in the Eastern Province, Yemeni airline Flyadean announced early Thursday morning. It was established that the injured person received prompt medical treatment, whereas all other passengers and flight deck crew remained safe from any harm.
The incident is a result of an air strike that targeted the strategically important Saudi airport late Wednesday evening, the General Authority of Civil Aviation stated. This attack occurred against the backdrop of an increased regional threat due to intercepted projectiles and drones within the territory of the Kingdom.
Flyadean management stressed that passenger well-being remains an absolute priority. Ground teams are closely coordinating with Saudi airport authorities and emergency responders to monitor the situation continuously. Following standard safety guidelines, technical engineering teams will subject the affected aircraft to rigorous structural and mechanical inspections to verify airworthiness before clearing it for future commercial deployment.

Operational disruptions rippled across regional networks immediately after the attack. The airline cancelled several scheduled routes, including the vital Dammam to Aden service, as well as multiple departures originating from Jeddah and Dammam. Customer service representatives are actively reaching out to ticket holders to arrange alternative itineraries, refunds, or rescheduling options.
Industry analysts note that aviation security across the Gulf has faced heightened scrutiny amid recurring cross-border threats. Regional carriers continue to prioritize real-time threat assessments while maintaining strict adherence to international civil aviation security standards.
Additionally, civil aviation bodies remain in constant dialogue with international defense partners to fortify airspace surveillance and prevent potential disruptions to key regional transport networks. Flyadean announced that further updates regarding flight schedule restorations will be distributed through official corporate communication channels as the situation stabilizes.
